En el aula, los estudiantes constantemente me han preguntado como es el funcionamiento de las ruedas y siempre trataba de explicarles de la mejor forma posible y que comprendieran el funcionamiento, pero no tenía a mano un equipo que me permitiera mostrarles como funcionaban.
Al menos podía explicarles haciendo uso del ejemplo de los vehículos y como hacían para moverse de un lugar a otro, pero sentía que debía ser más práctico y es por eso que decidimos utilizar una herramienta que permite explicar el funcionamiento de los mecanismos motorizados y como son el mundo real para poder explicar el funcionamiento de las ruedas.
Como estábamos aprendiendo a construir nuestro primer robot de EV3 Lego Mindstorms, nos aventuramos a utilizar el kit de Lego Mindstorms EV3 y a enfrentar el reto de construir, programar y ver el funcionamiento de los mecanismos motorizados con engrane.
Lo primero que haremos, es realizar la construcción de un mecanismo motorizado con engranajes que permita modificar la velocidad y la dirección del movimiento, luego vamos a programar ese mecanismo motorizado utilizando el editor de EV3 Mindstorms Home Edition y por último observaremos el funcionamiento mediante la ejecución del programa. Para eso vamos a utilizar las siguientes piezas para construir el mecanismo motorizado con engranajes.
Piezas para construir mecanismo motorizado con engranajes:
- 1 Motor grande
- 4 Conectores negros
- 2 Conectores azules
- 2 Ejes
- 2 Vigas angulares
- 2 Vigas especiales
- 2 Engranajes biselados
Nota: Los dos engranajes deben estar interconectados y uno de ellos debe estar girando al otro. Por ejemplo, considera que un engrane (Conductor) pequeño mueve a otro más grande (Conducido).
Engrane conductor es el que se monta directamente al motor y mueve a otro engrane, mientras que el Engrane conducido es el que recibe el movimiento.
Veamos el proceso completo de construcción, programación y puesta en funcionamiento del mecanismo motorizado con engrane y como funciona.
