El aprendizaje basado en proyecto (ABP), se enfoca en que los estudiantes puedan responder incógnitas creadas por ellos, junto con la supervisión del docente, esto les permitirá enfrentar una serie de problemas que los conducirá a buscar la solución del mismo.
El Aprendizaje Basado en Proyecto surgió a mediados del siglo 20, como contrapropuesta a metodología de aprendizaje tradicionales.
Promueve en los estudiantes el pensamiento crítico, habilidades comunicativas, tecnológicas, el trabajo en equipo, y desarrolla su creatividad y autonomía.
El docente adquiere un nuevo rol, pasando a ser facilitador y evaluador, pero no para facilitar informaciones, más bien, para motivar y estimular en los estudiantes la autonomía de la búsqueda, análisis y resolver situaciones de su entorno de forma grupal.
¿Cómo podemos aplicar el Aprendizaje basado en Proyecto en el salón de clases?
Implementar el ABP en el salón de clases es super fácil, a continuación detallamos los siguientes pasos que aplicado en el ABP Pequeños Productores.
Paso 1: Pregunta guía
Paso 2: Planificación del proyecto
Paso 3: Presentación del proyecto
Paso 4: Formar grupo
Paso 5: Investigación en contexto y recolección de datos Paso
Paso 6: Análisis de los datos
Paso 7: Elaboración del producto final
Paso 8: Presentación del proyecto
Paso 9: Evaluar el proyecto
En ABP el docente será el faro de guía en este proyecto, sin embargo, los estudiantes son los protagonistas del proceso para lograr los objetivos planteados.
Veamos un ejemplo de cómo aplicar el aprendizaje basado en proyecto en el aula:
Paso 1: Pregunta guía
Imaginemos que una maestra se ha planteado implementar el ABP y partiendo de una charla que tuvo anteriormente con sus estudiantes, sobre algunos temas de su comunidad, ha decidido aprovechar para trabajar un tema o unidad del diseño curricular.
El primer día, la maestra muestra mediante un proyector la siguiente imagen:
La maestra invita a los estudiantes a ofrecer su opinión en base a lo observado, luego de escuchar sus opiniones, mostró una segunda imagen, la cual fue tomada por ella en la comunidad de los estudiantes y se puede observar que hay algunos animales, tales como; vacas, caballos, cerdos, entre otros.
Luego de ver las imágenes, los estudiantes empezaron a plantear sus ideas, y a dar sus opiniones que a veces eran muy inquietantes, porque entendía de que esos animales que están en la segunda imagen, en un futuro no muy lejano, les faltarían los alimentos. También, discutieron sobre cómo eso estaba afectando su comunidad y su alimentación.
Esta discusión generó muchas inquietudes en los estudiantes y este es el momento preciso que la maestra aprovechó para llevar a los estudiantes a pensar en algunas posibles soluciones, entre ellas;
Concienciar a las autoridades y a la comunidad sobre la importancia del cultivo, ofrecer charlas a la comunidad para promover el cuidado de los ríos, implementar encuentros con la comunidad para hablar sobre el ahorro del agua, concienciar a la comunidad sobre la contaminación ambiental, entre otros.
Ese momento de la discusión es donde la maestra realizó algunas preguntas de forma centrada en la problemática que habían observado los estudiantes y tratando de que con esas preguntas los estudiantes generen mucho interés en darle solución, que se apropien y que vean un gran desafío en esa problemática.
La maestra propuso a los estudiantes escribir en una hoja algunas preguntas relacionadas con la problemática de forma muy específica y enfocadas en su comunidad.
Luego, los estudiantes crearon una pregunta general, con el objetivo de darle posibles soluciones a la problemática que estaba sucediendo en su comunidad sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente.
¿Qué debemos hacer para promover significativamente la importancia del cuidado del medio ambiente en nuestra comunidad?
Esta pregunta debe generar un desafío en los estudiantes, y como ha sido creada por ellos, debe integrar el objetivo como elemento principal que se tiene como meta, además, debe relacionarse con los contenidos del diseño curricular que el docente desea trabajar.
Esto ofrece la oportunidad de que los estudiantes estén inmersos en un trabajo de forma colaborativa y de su interés.
El objetivo principal del ABP, es involucrar a los estudiantes en problemas reales, provocativos y que puedan ser de su entorno, con el propósito de buscarle solución.
El hecho de que tengan que plantearse problemas reales en ambientes conocidos por ellos, provocará que el conocimiento adquirido en el salón de clase pueda ser aplicado en hechos reales, originando un impacto en los alumnos mientras están en el desarrollo del proyecto.
Como resultado final de este paso, se generó la pregunta guía o nombre del proyecto.
Paso 2: Planificación del proyecto
Al día siguiente la maestra y los estudiantes establecieron los objetivos o metas y los resultados que se esperan, es decir, el producto o los productos que deben realizar durante el desarrollo de la búsqueda de solución a la problemática.
En este paso, es donde el docente en conjunto con los estudiantes deben diseñar y planificar todo el alcance del proyecto, partiendo del nombre del proyecto o pregunta guía que ha surgido de los estudiantes y su entorno.
Los estudiantes decidieron ponerle como nombre al proyecto: Pequeños Productores.
Los estudiantes optaron por la creación de un huerto escolar en una área del centro educativo, que les permita poder aprender sobre el proceso de siembra de lechugas, tomates, entre otros y cómo cuidarlas, aprender sobre germinación, el cuidado del medio ambiente y los beneficios que ofrece para la salud una buena alimentación.
Entre los objetivos o metas propuestas estaban(Productos finales):
- Crear un huerto escolar en un área del centro educativo
- Visitar el Ministerio de Cultura para obtener las semillas para la siembra
- Crear recipientes o regaderas con materiales reciclados
- Crear un espantapájaros con materiales reciclados
- Invitar a los demás grados, y comunidad educativa a ver el huerto y ofrecerle charla sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente.
Como resultado final de este paso, se creó la planificación que incluye un cronograma de actividades a realizar.
Paso 3: Presentación del proyecto
Continuando con el ejemplo del proyecto: Pequeños Productores implementado en un centro educativo, ahora toca la presentación del proyecto de forma organizada a los estudiantes.
La maestra mostró mediante proyector, una presentación en PowerPoint detallando los requerimientos y propuestas para el proyecto Pequeños Productores.
En este paso, se puede entregar a los estudiantes un documento escrito con las pautas del proyecto, que incluya las herramientas tecnológicas para elegir las que usarían.
Como podrán observar los estudiantes tienen la posibilidad de diseñar cómo presentar el o los productos finales, de igual forma, han sido los que han elegido la pregunta y el nombre del proyecto.
Paso 4: Formar grupo
Una vez se tenga la planificación pasamos a la creación de equipos de trabajo.
En este paso, debemos generar un ambiente para que los estudiantes puedan crear equipos de 4 o 5 participantes para trabajar de forma colaborativa.
Aquí se pone de manifiesto o aprueba las habilidades de los estudiantes para el trabajo en equipo, sus valores, la creatividad y su inserción en lo social, puesto que tendrán que trabajar con actividades que se aplican en la vida diaria.
Esto los ayudará a construir su propio conocimiento, ser autónomo, analizar y resolver situaciones diarias.
El ABP busca desarrollar en los estudiantes habilidades del siglo XXI, por lo cual, es de mucha importancia la integración de las TIC en su desarrollo.
En este punto, la maestra mostró actividades de juego de roles, cómo crear equipo, además como usar el tiempo, y la forma de organizar la recopilación de los datos.
Como resultado de este paso, se formaron los equipos de trabajo.
Paso 5: Investigación en contexto y recolección de datos
En los pasos anteriores, la maestra y los estudiantes han acordado todo el proceso a desarrollar durante el proyecto, además, se han creado los equipos y ahora es el momento de empezar a trabajar con las actividades y es aquí donde entra en juego el contenido del diseño curricular. Recuerdan que anteriormente se explicó, que la maestra quería trabajar un tema utilizando el ABP.
En este paso, los estudiantes inician su trabajo de forma grupal, siendo los que eligen qué actividades van a trabajar y cómo la van a trabajar, partiendo del cronograma de actividades.
El ABP es flexible y en cualquier momento lo pautado puede tomar otra dirección, es por eso, que en un punto del proyecto surgieron nuevas inquietudes en los estudiantes y decidieron integrar a la investigación el objetivo de desarrollo sostenible número 2: Hambre cero, propuesto por las naciones unidas. Además, se integró el uso de las tablets del centro educativo con el objetivo de desarrollar habilidades y competencias tecnológicas.
Para recopilar algunas informaciones, los estudiantes iniciaron con preguntas a sus familiares sobre el proceso de siembra, y como la comunidad está ubicada en una zona donde se vive de la cultivo, surgieron muchas informaciones y muy relevantes, tales como: Cuando es la mejora época para sembrar x planta, que se debe tomar en cuenta a la hora de sembrar, cual es la tierra más fértil para sembrar, que tiempo de duración tiene una planta para dar frutos, y muchas más informaciones. De igual forma, se obtuvo información sobre las plagas que afectan al cultivo.
La investigación estuvo centrada en responder las siguientes preguntas en base a los diferentes temas:
¿Qué sabemos del tema o los temas?
¿Qué queremos saber?
Estas preguntas están en base al grado que se ha implementado el proyecto.
¿Qué es un huerto?
¿Cuáles herramientas usamos para preparar el terreno para sembrar?
¿Dónde se pueden conseguir las semillas a sembrar?
¿Qué necesita una planta para crecer?
¿Por donde respiran las plantas?
¿Cómo producimos nuestros propios alimentos?
¿Qué le gustaría sembrar?
¿Qué tiempo dura una siembra, crecimiento y cosecha?
¿Cuál es el tamaño de las plantas que vamos a sembrar?
¿Cuál es función del espantapájaros en un huerto?
¿Qué es una plaga y qué efecto hace en una siembra?
En este punto, podemos insertar las demás asignaturas, siendo este el punto de mayor relevancia en el aprendizaje basado en proyecto, puesto que sumerge al estudiante en una investigación, donde podrá recopilar información, analizarla y actuar en base a lo observado.
Como resultado final de este paso, se ha iniciado con una investigación en la comunidad preguntando a diferentes personas.
Se ha buscado información en libros, internet, entre otros y los datos se han recopilado en los cuadernos de los estudiantes, además, la maestra ha estado recopilando fotos de las actividades realizadas y las ha publicado en el blog del proyecto.
Una actividad que debemos resaltar en este paso, ha sido que los estudiantes trabajaron con una herramienta de realidad aumentada para abordar el tema de las plagas.
Paso 6: Análisis de los datos
Una vez hayan investigado sobre los diferentes temas y los estudiantes tengan los datos recopilados, es hora de analizar esos datos que han arrojado las investigaciones.
En este punto, se deben socializar los datos que han recolectados los estudiantes. Una forma de reforzar el análisis de datos, es utilizando ejercicios de comprensión y que estos, puedan sumergir al estudiante en cómo pueden analizar los datos que recopilaron, integrando diferentes áreas. Podría ser de forma descriptiva, estadísticas, comparativa, entre otras.
Cómo resultado final de este paso, se ha realizado un documento con las informaciones obtenidas, es decir, con la síntesis de los datos analizados.
En el ABP de Pequeños Productores, se ha hecho uso de las TIC para promover en los estudiantes, técnicas de cultivos, manipular elementos como la tierra, agua, semillas, conocer sobre el crecimiento de las plantas, el cuidado de cada planta y como lograr las metas propuestas, además, cada actividad se ha hecho desde el enfoque de las diferentes áreas participantes, tales como: Lengua española, matemáticas y el área de Educación Física.
Paso 7: Elaboración del producto final
Ha llegado el momento de que los estudiantes fabriquen el producto final con los datos obtenidos y las herramientas necesarias. En este punto se trabaja directamente con actividades prácticas y enfocadas en construir el producto final o los productos finales.
Cada grupo o equipo de trabajo, es responsable de cumplir con las asignaciones colocadas en el cronograma. Esas asignaciones o actividades pueden ser curriculares o extracurriculares.
El ABP Pequeños Productores contiene varios productos finales, y es por eso, que las actividades se dividieron por productos, primero se trabajaba con un producto y al culminar con ese producto, se pasaba a la siguiente actividad, enfocada en el otro producto.
Por ejemplo: Un producto final que propusieron los estudiantes, fue crear recipientes o regaderas con materiales reciclados para regar las plantas a sembrar.
A ese producto, se le asignó un tiempo en el cronograma de actividades y se llevó a cabo de principio a fin, una vez terminado se procedió a pasar el siguiente producto.
Como resultado final de este paso, se preparó el terreno para la siembra, se construyeron recipientes, y espantapájaros con materiales reciclados. Además, se visitó el Ministerio de Cultura para obtener las semillas.
Paso 8: Presentación del proyecto
Una vez que los estudiantes culminen con la creación de los productos finales, es el momento para que expongan sus creaciones y los resultados obtenidos a otras personas.
En el ABP Pequeños Productores uno de los productos finales es invitar a los demás grados, y comunidad educativa a ver el huerto y ofrecerle charla sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente, sin embargo, no debemos confundir este producto final generado en ese proyecto, con el punto 8, que es la presentación del proyecto.
En este punto, cada grupo o equipo pueden exponer sobre diferentes resultados del proyecto a otros grados, no es necesario que sea en su curso actual, también pueden exponer en otros centros educativos, pueden crear videos para publicarlos en las redes sociales, infografías, entre otros. y de esa forma divulgar los resultados del proyecto.
Paso 9: Evaluar el proyecto
Este punto se coloca al final del proyecto, sin embargo, se aplica durante todo el desarrollo del proyecto.
En cada etapa del proyecto los docentes revisan si se cumplieron con los objetivos y desarrollo de actividades plasmadas en el cronograma, y de esa forma se va aplicando la evaluación formativa en cada proceso.
Este punto es recomendable utilizarlo para evaluar los aprendizaje obtenidos por los estudiantes englobando todo el proyecto y evaluando el producto final como tal.
Como resultado de este paso, se crearon rúbricas para evaluar el proyecto de forma global y los aprendizaje de los estudiantes.

After I initially commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I receive four emails with the exact same comment. Is there a means you can remove me from that service? Thanks.
