Hola y bienvenidos
Hoy voy a responder algunas preguntas que me han hecho constantemente durante estos días, en que las escuelas en diferentes países han cerrado sus puertas por la prevención de la propagación del coronavirus (COVID-19)
Y hace un tiempo que nuestro presidente acaba de cancelar las clases hasta el 13 abril, dos semanas específicamente.
Es por eso, que para responder las preguntas, creare una estructura en modo de tutorial para que los docentes puedan crear sus propias aulas virtuales utilizando la Suite Google, desde cero y paso a paso.
Con esto se pretende mostrar una forma de enfrentar la situación y poder culminar con el calendario escolar, resaltando que existen muchas herramientas y esto es solo un punto de partida para los que aun no ha podido encontrar una salida a la situación.
Las preguntas que responderé son las siguientes:
- ¿Cuáles herramientas y recursos necesito para implementar un aula virtual?
- ¿Cuál plataforma es la adecuada para mis clases de forma virtual?
- ¿Cuáles equipos y herramientas necesitan los estudiantes para hacer uso del aula virtual?
- ¿Cuál es el tiempo que yo y mis estudiantes les dedicaremos al aula virtual?
- ¿Cómo evaluar a mis estudiantes en el aula virtual?
Estas preguntas van a depender en gran medida del grado en que usted imparte docencia, es por eso, que vamos a responder basándonos en el Nivel Primario y Secundario.
La pregunta 1:
¿Cuáles herramientas y recursos necesito para implementar un aula virtual?
En internet existen un sin número de excelentes herramientas, donde podemos crear nuestras aulas virtuales, sin embargo, nosotros vamos a recomendar a classroom para aprovechar los beneficios de la suite de Google.
Dicho esto, podemos comenzar a crear nuestra aula virtual e ir respondiendo a cada pregunta.
Primero: Necesitamos tener un correo electrónico de Gmail. Pues con el, tendremos los beneficios que ofrece la suite de Google.
Las personas que tienen un celular o Tablet con el sistema operativo Android, tienen una cuenta de Gmail creada y pueden hacer uso de ella.
En caso de haber olvidado la contraseña y no puedan recuperarla, le sugiero crear uno, para crear el aula virtual. Es por eso, que les dejo un video de cómo crear una cuenta de correo electrónico de Gmail.

Segundo: Una vez tenga la cuenta de correo electrónico de Gmail, ya tenemos la posibilidad de crear el aula virtual, pero antes de eso, vamos a ver algunas herramientas que necesitamos para contactar a los estudiantes y compartir ciertas informaciones.
La primera es Whatsapp, en ella podemos crear un grupo con los estudiantes, pero ojo aquí. Recomiendo que dicho grupo sea creado por el docente(a) y que elimine la parte donde el estudiante pueda comentar.
Me explico: Whatsapp ofrece la opción de que solo el administrador pueda enviar comentario al grupo. Pero ¿por qué esto? Pues ese grupo solo será usado para que usted como docente envíe informaciones. (Más adelante justifico).
Otra herramienta que podemos usar para comunicarnos con los estudiantes y padres, es Facebook. En ella podemos crear una pagina o grupo. Sin embargo, yo recomiendo que se haga uso de una de las dos, pues, si es la primera vez que usted va a implementar un aula virtual, entonces seria mucha información y por ende, eso traería desinformación.
Entonces, nos quedamos con una. En este caso el grupo de WhatsApp.
De manera que, ya tenemos las herramientas necesarias para crear nuestra aula virtual, que son el correo electrónico de Gmail y el grupo de WhatsApp.
La segunda pregunta es:
¿Cuál plataforma es la adecuada para mis clases de forma virtual?
La plataforma adecuada va a depender en gran medida de sus necesidades, sin embargo, en este caso vamos a recomendarles hacer uso de Classroom, partiendo de que usted nunca ha implementado un aula virtual o lo ha hecho, pero la ha usado de modo semi-presencial. Existen otras herramientas similares, tales como: Edmodo, Moodle, entre otras.
Classroom es una plataforma de Google que permite a docente trasladar su aula física a un aula virtual, ofreciéndoles la posibilidad de gestionar todo lo relacionado con el proceso pedagógico en línea.
Ya conocemos a classroom, es momento de crear nuestra clase. En el siguiente video explico como crear una clase en classroom.

La tercera pregunta es:
¿Cuáles equipos y herramientas necesitan los estudiantes para hacer uso del aula virtual?
En nuestro país existen escuelas que pertenecen al programa de República Digital y donde todos los estudiantes del Nivel Secundario poseen una laptop. Sin embargo, la mayoría de los centros educativos no cuentan con ese programa.
De igual forma, debemos resaltar que algunos estudiantes viven en zona donde el internet es muy limitado, lo que implica que debemos tomar en cuenta muchos elementos.
Sin embargo, y partiendo de nuestro excelente ojímetro, podemos decir que muchos estudiantes tienen un celular, mientras que otros no, pero sus padres posiblemente sí.
Entonces, partiendo de lo dicho anteriormente, podemos decir que las herramientas y equipos que necesitan los estudiantes para hacer uso del aula virtual, va a depender de las asignaciones que coloque el docente.
Es por eso, que recomendamos que los docentes traten de colocar asignaciones tomando en cuenta la limitante que tienen los estudiantes, dicha anteriormente.
Al crear el grupo de WhatsApp, se podría crear una diagnostica para ver cuales estudiantes tienen computador en casa, laptop, Tablet, celular e internet. Esa diagnostica puede hacerse en un formulario de Google. Y nos permitirá saber los requerimientos a la hora de colocar una asignación.
Por ejemplo: Yo como docente, voy a tratar el tema de la estructura de la célula y en caso de que mis estudiantes solo pueden tener acceso a internet mediante el celular de su padre, entonces, yo puedo colocar en mi aula virtual, un documento en pdf que desarrolle el tema de la celular y explique la estructura, y como asignación, pediría a los estudiantes leer el documento y luego crear un mapa mental en su cuaderno y al culminar tomarle una foto y subirla al espacio de la tarea.
Sin embargo, si usted tiene estudiantes que tienen más posibilidad en base a los recursos del internet, entonces, usted puede hacer uso de herramientas, tales como: Google Doc, Emaze, Prezi, Kahoot, Socrative, Padlet, Phet, entre otras.
Entonces, finalizamos esta pregunta, diciendo que las herramientas y equipos que necesitan los estudiantes para hacer uso del aula virtual son: un celular (En el caso muy limitado de recursos del internet), table o laptop (En el caso de muy bueno recursos del internet) y un correo electrónico de Gmail para poder ingresar al aula virtual en classroom creada por el docente.
La cuarta pregunta es:
¿Cuál es el tiempo que yo y mis estudiantes les dedicaremos al aula virtual?
Esta pregunta contiene un elemento que por lo general no se ven en clases normales, es decir, de forma presencial. Pues los docentes dedican muchas horas no áulicas a la creación del plan de clases, y de igual modo, los estudiantes fuera de aula.
Es por eso, que hemos creado un horario en modo de ejemplo para mostrar el tiempo en que los docentes y estudiantes estarán conectados de forma conjunta.
Aquí debemos resaltar y recomendamos hacer uso del modelo de Flipped Classroom o clase invertida. La cual consiste en lograr que los estudiantes gestionen su aprendizaje interactuando con materiales audiovisuales y que luego el docente retroalimenta.
Entonces, dicho esto, vamos a detallar el horario.

Y la última pregunta es:
¿Cómo evaluar a mis estudiantes en el aula virtual?
La suite de Google ofrece varias herramientas que podemos usar para obtener trabajos realizados por los estudiantes, tomando en cuenta la respuesta de la pregunta No.3. sobre los recursos del internet con que cuentan los estudiantes.
De igual forma, en esa misma respuesta se ha citado un ejemplo sobre el tema de la célula.
También, podemos hacer uso del formulario de Google, el cual usamos para crear la diagnostica y crear cuestionario para ver como van los estudiantes en cierto tema.
Nuestra recomendación es que los docentes, coloquen asignaciones donde los estudiantes tengan que utilizar algunas herramientas de la suite de Google, por ejemplo, crear presentaciones, crear reporte, informes, síntesis en Google doc, entre otras.
Y finalizamos con un elemento muy importante tanto para los docentes como para los estudiantes y es la creación de un portafolio de evidencias.

Pues ya tenemos la plataforma creada, hemos impartido docencia, pero para poder mostrar que se ha trabajado, necesitamos divulgar nuestro trabajo. Es por eso, que proponemos crear un portafolio o blog, donde se use de manera conjunta con el aula virtual y se puede usar para evaluar cierto tema.
Por ejemplo, vamos a crear un blog en bloguer, y vamos a realizar una entrada sobre el tema de Los Planetas, colocamos un vídeo y lo compartimos en una actividad en classroom, luego los estudiantes deben visitar el blog y dejar un comentario respondiendo la o las preguntas que el docente dejó.
Esto ayuda a interactuar con los estudiantes de forma sincrónica y además, nos da la posibilidad de tener un espacio en donde podemos divulgar nuestro trabajo.

En ese mismo orden, es importante crear una estructura de carpetas en Google drive, y aunque classroom ya ofrece un espacio destinado al curso, es muy importante tener una carpeta y alojar algunos trabajos realizados por lo estudiantes.

En conclusión, la creación de un aula virtual es sencilla utilizando la suite de Google, solo requiere de un poco de tiempo al principio, pero luego podemos reutilizar los recursos y materiales y todo se convierte en algo muy sencillo.
